(DOTHAN, Ala.) On September 10, 2024, the Dothan Police Department was called to a person down in the 300 block of Virginia Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a black male lying on the side of the road. The victim was pronounced dead on scene and had been there a period of time before he was discovered around 6:00 am. The victim has been identified as Fredrick Lamar Morris (37) of Dothan.
According to the preliminary investigation, Morris was last seen by a family member around midnight on September 9th. Morris was driving northbound on Virginia Drive when his mini bike left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Morris was ejected from the vehicle and not wearing a helmet. Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash. The Dothan Police Department CRASH Team is in charge of the investigation.
