The Dothan Police Department was notified of a situation in which an adult male was soliciting a juvenile by means of an electronic device attempting to get the juvenile to engage in sexual activities. An investigation immediately began, and it was determined there was sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegation.
As a result, Dexter Marquis Curry, 31 years old of Ozark, was arrested and charged with one count of Electronic Solicitation of a Child. His bond was set at $30,000.00.

On Friday, September 23, 2022, officers responded to Southeast Health Emergency Room for an assault that had taken place in the 800 block of Walnut Street. Upon their arrival, they made contact with a male victim who had a severe laceration to his face. After receiving treatment there, he was transferred to an out of town facility for specialized treatment.
The suspect, January Corbitt, 43 years old of Dothan, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence First Degree. Her bond was set at $30,000.00.
In July of 2022, the Dothan Police Department began working a double murder investigation along with Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Department. During the investigation, five individuals were identified as suspects. Two of those suspects; 32 year old Devante Williams, and 31 year old MacAuthur Hawkins, both of Dothan, are still being sought by the Dothan Police Department and the U.S. Marshals. Williams and Hawkins are wanted for one count of Capital Murder, one count of Kidnapping First Degree and one count of Abuse of a Corpse.
In recent days, investigators have identified two females that have been hindering the apprehension of Devante Williams by providing him with housing and vehicles. Quantasia Johnson, 27 years old from Dothan, and Cathleen Harvis, 26 years old from Enterprise, have each been charged with one count of Hindering Prosecution First Degree. Each one has a $15,000.00 bond.

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at approximately 11:20 PM, Dothan Police Officers responded to a burglary at Dollar General in the 1000 block of Montgomery Highway. Officers confirmed a suspect had broken the front glass window and gained access then took several pieces of merchandise from the business before fleeing. Officers reviewed surveillance video and recognized the suspect.
Officers located the suspect later in the night next to a vacant residence in the area which was believed he was frequenting. A search warrant of the residence led to the recovery of multiple pieces of merchandise matching what was taken during the burglary.
Damon Renwick Goodson, 51 years old of Dothan, was determined to have been responsible for several other burglaries within recent weeks. Goodson was charged with six counts of Burglary Third Degree, one count of Theft of Property First Degree, one count of Theft of Property Second Degree, three counts of Theft of Property Third Degree, and one count of Criminal Mischief Third Degree. His bond has been set at $68,000.00.
On Monday, 9/19/2022, Dothan Police Officers responded to a burglary at City Church Dothan on West Selma Street. Officers found forced entry had been made into the church and several items removed, along with damage done to the interior of the church. With help of the surrounding community, two individuals responsible for this were located nearby. Those two individuals have been identified as juveniles and were charged with Burglary Third Degree.
On Friday, September 16, 2022, Dothan Police Department charged 30 year old Travis Ren Mattox of Dothan with one count of Violation of Elder Abuse Protection Order and one count of Elder Abuse Second Degree. He currently has no bond.
Mattox had a previous protection order against him ordering no contact with the victim who is a relative of his. Mattox has continued to violate the no contact order, and on this occasion, he assaulted the victim. The victim received a minor injury but did not require treatment.
On Monday morning, September 12, 2022, the Dothan Police Department was notified of a Burglary in the 3000 block of East Cottonwood Road. There were also several reports of breaking and entering vehicles in various locations. As the investigation began, it was determined the same individual was responsible for all of them.
Kasondra Kay Strickland, 23 years old of Enterprise, AL, was charged with one count of Burglary Third Degree and six counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. Her bond was set at $75,000.00.
On Sunday September 11, 2022, officers responded to the 600 block of East Adams Street in Dothan for an assault. While investigating the call, it was determined the suspect had assaulted a female relative.
The suspect was identified as Jeremy Lee Resch, 47 years old of Dothan. Resch was arrested and charged with one count of Assault Second Degree.
At approximately 3:20 AM on Sunday, September 4, 2022, Dothan Fire and Rescue along with Dothan Police Department responded to a residence in the 600 block of Mauldin Drive for a medical emergency. It was determined the victim, 48 year old Robert Blount, was deceased as a result of being murdered. Multiple interviews have been conducted and many leads have been followed up on. Investigators have worked around the clock since Sunday to bring resolution to this case.
On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, investigators arrested two individuals for the Murder of Blount. Koston Pierce McWaters, 24 years old of Ashford, AL, was picked up at his place of employment in Dothan and subsequently arrested.
Mekhi Rajan Telfair, 24 years old of Ashford, AL, was arrested in Bay County, FL for a warrant that was issued by the Dothan Police Department.
Both, McWaters and Telfair have each been charged with one count of Capital Murder and have no bond. At this time no more arrests are expected.

Investigators were able to identify all juveniles involved and as a result, six juveniles have been charged with Robbery Second Degree and were turned over to the Southeast Alabama Diversion Center. One additional juvenile, who is not from Dothan, has been identified as well and is currently being sought.
