On January 27, 2021 at about 05:00 am, an unknown suspect, believed to be the same suspect as the prior robbery, entered the store armed with a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect collected an undisclosed amount of cash, vaping equipment, and cigars then fled the scene on foot. Investigators canvassed the area near where the robbery occurred and came to an address in the 2100 block of Oakdale Driver, which is a short distance from the store.
Investigators were speaking with a 19 year old man who came to the door. Through some standard questions, the man, identified as Romaine McFarland, confessed to robbing the store on both occasions. A search warrant was conducted on the residence and items were found that incriminated McFarland in both robberies. Among the items found was cash determined to be from the robbery, cigars like the ones taken, vaping equipment like the ones taken, and clothes that were similar to clothes worn by the suspect in both robberies.
Romaine McFarland (19) of Dothan was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery 1st degree with bonds totaling $120,000.
