Capital Murder Arrest Made in McKay Street Murder

On August 30th 2017, Investigators arrested Dejarvous Walker Glenn (21) for the murder of Marcell Arline, which occurred on August 23rd in the 800 block of McKay Street. At the time of the offense, Glenn was serving time in Houston County Community Corrections  for Discharging a Firearm Into an Occupied Building . Glenn has been booked into the Dothan City Jail on one count of Capital Murder and currently has no bond. This arrest is the result of hundreds of man hours involving dozens of statements and interviews. The case is still being investigated and there are indications that there may have been more people involved in the planning, carrying out and aftermath of the crime. Arrests Made in Robberies on West Main and Bay Springs

On August 29th, the Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Shell station in the 5800 block of West Main Street. As Investigators followed leads, information was developed leading to the identity of the suspect, Jonathan Chase German (28). As this information was being developed, the suspect committed another robbery in Houston County on West Main at Bay Springs. Investigators from both departments exchanged information and began an intensive search for the suspect. At approximately 2100 hours, the suspect was located on East Main Street in Dothan and taken to the Police Department for questioning. After questioning, it was determined that German’s girlfriend, Erica Conard (28) was an accomplice in the robbery which occurred in Dothan. Both suspects were arrested for Robbery 1st Degree for the Dothan Robbery and German was charged by the Houston County Sheriffs Office with one count of Robbery 1st Degree in the Bay Springs robbery. Our thanks to the Houston County Sheriffs Office for their assistance in this case.

At this time, bonds have not been set.

Robbery of a Person Call on South Foster Ends in Arrest

On 8/28/2017, Patrol responded to a strong-arm robbery call in the 100 block of South Foster. It was determined that the suspect, Roy Riley Jr. (51), took an iPhone from the victim  and attempted to also take money before fleeing. Riley was charged with one count of Robbery 3rd. His bond was placed at $15,000.00.

Assault 2nd and Robbery 1st Arrest

On 8/27/2017, Patrol responded to the 2100 block of Denton Rd on an Assault call. Once on scene, it was determined that, in the process of trying to take possession of a dog from the victim, Waylon Barnett (24) used an edged weapon to assault the victims friend who was attempting to help her. The injuries were not considered to be life threatening. Barnett was arrested for Robbery 1st and Assault 2nd a short time later. Bonds were set at $60,000.00 and $15,000.00 respectively.

Firearm Assault Lands Shooter in Jail

On 8/24/2017, Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 700 block of North Range. Upon arrival, Officers found evidence of a firearm assault and later found the victim at SAMC with a gunshot wound to his thigh. The suspect, Sonny Atavia Flowers (22) was located and interviewed before being arrested on the charge of Assault 1st Degree. His bond was set at $30,000.00.

Assault at Club Imani Upgraded to Murder

UPDATE:  The victim from the assault at Club Imani on Monday has died as a result of his injury.  As a result, the charge against the suspect, Marcus Jamael Hill, has been upgraded from assault first degree to murder.  Hill in currently being held with no bond.

We are currently working a serious assault which occurred early this morning at Club Imani 512 N. Foster Street. The victim, Hehiheh Bara-Asah Hehiheh Yisrael (AKA Brandon Frasier) was assaulted in the front parking lot of the club. A person of interest in the case is currently being interviewed by Investigators. Updates will follow as available.

Theft of Property 1st Degree and Burglary 3rd Degree Arrests

On 8/17/2017, Scott Daniels Evans (32) was arrested for a Burglary which occurred in the 600 block of South Ussery Street and for a vehicle theft which occurred at Clarion Inn in the 2100 block of the Circle. Bonds were set at $15,000.00 and $30,000.00 respectively.

Arrest: Assault 1st Degree

Amelia Jerusha White (31) was arrested for the crime of Assault 1st Degree stemming from an incident which occurred on August 16th 2017 in the 200 block of Sherwood Drive. Her bond was set at $15,000.00.

Narcotics Arrest

On 08/17/2017 Vice Investigators made contact with a vehicle in a parking lot in the 3200 block of Montgomery Highway. Their contact and subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle and its occupants were in possession of several different controlled substances to include, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and illegal prescription pills.

Investigators have arrested 43 year old James Amar Woods, of N. Herring Street, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree.

Investigators have arrested and charged 23 year old Courtney Lynne Spivey, of Roney Road Kinsey, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree.

Bonds will be set later today. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
