Assault at Club Imani Upgraded to Murder

UPDATE:  The victim from the assault at Club Imani on Monday has died as a result of his injury.  As a result, the charge against the suspect, Marcus Jamael Hill, has been upgraded from assault first degree to murder.  Hill in currently being held with no bond.

We are currently working a serious assault which occurred early this morning at Club Imani 512 N. Foster Street. The victim, Hehiheh Bara-Asah Hehiheh Yisrael (AKA Brandon Frasier) was assaulted in the front parking lot of the club. A person of interest in the case is currently being interviewed by Investigators. Updates will follow as available.

Domestic Violence Call leads to Drug Trafficking Arrest

On Friday 08/18/2017 officers with the patrol division were dispatched to a possible domestic violence call in the 2200 block of Ross Clark Circle. Upon their arrival they made contact with the individuals involved in the altercation. Through their investigation they discovered one of the individuals to be in possession of a large amount of synthetic marijuana (analog).

Vice Investigators responded to the location and took over the investigation. Investigators have arrested and charged 33 year old Mawes Geral McCray, of Carl Street, with Drug Trafficking. Bond has been set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.

The domestic violence call was unfounded. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Suspicious Vehicle leads to Narcotics Arrest

On 08/15/2017 two night shift officers with the patrol division were conducting a foot patrol checking closed businesses in the 3700 block of W. Main Street. They encountered an occupied vehicle in one of the parking lots and made contact with the individual to investigate. During the course of their investigation a controlled substance (methamphetamine) was located  inside the vehicle.

Vice Investigators were called to the scene. Investigators have arrested and charged 48 year old Charles Bernard Huckeba, of Grimes Street Enterprise, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $1,500.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Traffic Stop Leads to Narcotics Arrest

On 08/14/2017 officers with the patrol division conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of E. Troy Street. During the course of the traffic stop officers recovered a controlled substance (methamphetamine) from the vehicle.

Vice Investigators were called to the scene of the traffic stop. Investigators have arrested and charged 31 year old Courtney Cavell Quinn, of S. Foster Street, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $5,000.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Robbery Leads to Crash after Attempt to Flee

On 8/15/201 at approximately 4:30 AM, Patrol Officers responded to the Kangaroo Convenience Store on Montgomery Highway on an armed robbery call. While en-route, a Patrol Officer spotted the suspect vehicle on John D. Odom and attempted to stop it. The driver refused to stop and fled Westbound on West Main, weaving through traffic before leaving the road and rolling. The driver was thrown from the vehicle as it rolled. The driver was transported to SAMC with significant injuries. West Main, West of Brannon Stand, was closed as Investigators processed the scene but has since been reopened.

 

Narcotics Arrest

On 08/11/2017 Vice Investigators were called to the 3200 bock of Montgomery Highway in reference to a traffic stop conducted by officers with the patrol division. Following the traffic stop officers had located methamphetamine and other narcotics  inside the vehicle and in the possession of the occupants.

Investigators have arrested and charged 47 year old William Scott Worthy, of Cottonwood Highway, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.  His bond has been set at $1,000.

Investigators have arrested and charged 36 year old Kelly Monique Maness, of Randolph Street, with three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her bond has been set at $1,000 per charge, totaling $3,000.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Narcotics Arrest

On 08/11/2017 Vice Investigators arrested and charged 20 year old Alyssa Courtney Jones, of Glass Road Greenwood Florida, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. This stemmed from Patrol Officers making contact with Jones in the 2700 block of Ross Clark Circle where she appeared to be sleeping in her vehicle in an intersection.

Bond has been set at $1,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Shaken Baby Fighting for Life

On 8/10/2017, Dothan Police and Fire responded to a call involving an unresponsive 3 week old baby. When units arrived, CPR was in progress and Dothan Fire Medics continued the efforts, restoring a heartbeat. The baby was taken to SAMC for further treatment and ultimately airlifted to Birmingham. At this time, the prognosis is unknown. Dothan PD Criminal Investigators responded to the scene and through several hours of effort, were able to charge David Lee Ivry with Aggravated Child Abuse after determining the baby had been shaken.

Search Warrant Leads to Narcotics Arrest

On 08/10/2017 Vice Investigators executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Southland Drive concluding a three week narcotics investigation. Investigators seized illegal narcotics and paraphernalia from the residence to include ecstacy, cocaine, and marijuana.

Investigators have arrested and charged 33 year old Bryan Kelly, of Southland Drive, with 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana 1st degree. Bonds total $15,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Narcotics Arrest

On 08/08/2017 an off-duty officer observed two individuals handling narcotics while they were sitting in a parked car in the 2100 block of Ross Clark Circle. Officers with the patrol division made contact with the individuals a short time later. narcotics were found in the vehicle and a Vice investigator was called to the scene.

Investigators have arrested and charged 27 year old James Tillman Fox and 40 year old Shanna Leanne Jones, both of 2900 block Ross Clark Circle, with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Synthetic). Bond was set at $1,500 on both suspects.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
