On Friday March 8th 2019 Dothan Police responded to a report of a firearm assault at the intersection of Chickasaw St. and Montana Street. When officers arrived they found the victim, Lenorth Lecarl King (24), laying on the sidewalk with one gunshot wound to the abdomen.
King was transported by ambulance to SouthEast Health for treatment. He was treated in the Emergency Department and taken for surgery. He is listed in stable condition with non life threatening injuries. Investigators responded to the scene and began the investigation.
Dothan Police Investigators are looking for 25 year old Darius Donte Curry. He is wanted for questioning for his involvement in the shooting. The Dothan Police Department requests that anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Curry please call 334-615-3000 or call CrimeStoppers at 334-793-7000.

School bus number 27 involved in a minor accident at Hartford and the circle there are no injuries.

Having sustained much damage from Hurricane Michael, Doug Tew playground had to be reconstructed. Today Chief Parrish, Mayor Saliba, members of DPD K9 unit, several or our newest officers, DFD, Leisure Services and many other wonderful volunteers worked to rebuild this playground!!
Unless you have Wonder Woman super powers avoid the intersection of Lafayette and South rights until 1620 as the parade is passing.
There is no parking allowed on the 100 block of North and South Foster today if you are parked there you have until 1440to move, so PLEASE
come move your vehicle. If it is not moved in that time unfortunately we will have to tow it due to the event that will be arriving shortly thereafter.
On February 24th 2019 Dothan Police responded to Walton Park Recreation Center for a report of gunshots. Witnesses stated that a fight started between two black males in the gym that carried over into the parking lot. Gunshots were exchanged in the parking lot and all individuals involved fled the scene.
One person was injured during the incident and is in stable condition with a non life threatening gun shot wound to his right shoulder. He is awaiting surgery at a local hospital.
Police were able to identify all individuals involved in the shooting. Tristan Van’Dexter Thomas-Forsythe (23) of Dothan was arrested and charged with Attempted Assault 1st Degree for his involvement in the incident. He has a $30,000.00 bond. The incident is still under investigation.

The Dothan Police Department is working an active crash scene at Ross Clark and Kelly we asked motorists to please avoid the area as there are major closures and delays on Ross Clark Circle. There is an ongoing investigation of this crash and multiple criminal acts that preceded involving one of the vehicles. We ask the public to understand that there may be as many as four scenes to investigate leading up to the area we now stand so we ask for patience and understanding as we have members of patrol, investigations and traffic working diligently to find answers.
