Armed Robbery of Business in Dothan

On 01/13/2018 Dothan Police responded to an Armed Robbery at the Dollar General in the 1000 block of Montgomery Highway.

Employees reported that three black males entered the business with their faces covered and armed with handguns.  The suspects made their way behind the counter and demanded money from the employee, then fled on foot from the business with an undetermined amount of cash.

The three suspects were described as wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a red cross on the shoulder and bluejeans that were torn on the right side, a white belt and red shoes. Another suspect was described as being approximately six foot tall and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and long pants. The third suspect was described as wearing a beige pullover with a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes.

Dothan Police Make Arrest for Impersonating a Police Officer

On January 4th 2018 Dothan Police responded to the 2800 block of Fortner St. to a medical emergency. While on the scene 37 year old Scotty Earl Lingo identified himself to officers and emergency personnel as an auxiliary police officer from Headland Alabama. Lingo was in possession of a Headland Police Department Auxiliary Identification Card.

Further investigation revealed that Lingo was in possession of a handgun for which he was using the police identification as his permit. Officers confirmed through the Headland Police Department that Lingo has not been an auxiliary officer with their department since January 2015.

Lingo was arrested on scene for a Domestic Violence warrant with the City of Dothan and Impersonating a Police Officer. His bond was set at $15,000.00.

All persons are innocent until proven guilty.

Burglary / Sexual Assault Arrests

On 06/17/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 22 year old Quderius Robinson, of Chloe Court and 24 year old Elijha Martin, of Judson Street, with two counts of Burglary 1st degree, Rape 1st degree, and Sodomy 1st degree.

The investigation revealed that Robinson and Martin, armed with a handgun, broke into an occupied residence located in the 500 block of Fourth Avenue. One of the occupants in that residence was assaulted during the burglary.

A short time later Robinson and Martin, still armed, broke into a residence in the 1200 block of Robbins Street. Both subjects sexually assaulted a female juvenile inside that residence. The victim in this case did receive medical treatment for injuries sustained in the assault. Due to the victim’s age no other details can be released.

Investigators and Patrol Units worked through the night and next morning attempting to locate both subjects. Both subjects were located and taken into custody where they are currently being held with no bond. Investigators served several search warrants and located evidence related to these crimes.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Edged Weapon Assault

Last night at approximately 8:25 p.m. Patrol Officers were dispatched to an edged weapon assault in the 100 block of Newberry Lane. Two subjects were transported to a local hospital one suffering from multiple stab wounds and the other suffering from a head injury. Both subjects were treated for serious injuries.

Investigators and Crime Scene Technicians processed the scene. It has been determined that no other individuals are involved in this assault. The investigation is ongoing and Investigators are working on determining what occurred.

Commercial Burglary Arrest

On 05/02/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 20 year old Ashton Rashawn Brackins, of North Appletree Street with three counts of Burglary 3rd degree. This was in connection with a business in the 500 block of N. Cherry Street that was burglarized three times on the night of January 10, 2017. Bond has been set at $45,000.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Identity Theft

On 05/02/2017Investigators arrested and charged 34 year old James Wesley Arnold, of Moss Street, with three counts of Identity Theft. Bond has been set at $90,000.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Boat theft arrest

On 04/28/2017 Investigators arrested and charged 38 year old Ashley Ryan Holder, of Flynn Road, with Theft of Property 1st degree. This was in connection with a boat theft that occurred on 04-21 on Copper Court. Bond has been set at 30,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
