On 11/04/2019, The Dothan Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Greentree Ave. In reference to a robbery/shooting call. When officers arrived, it was determined that there were two people shot. The investigation revealed that a suspect pulled a weapon on the victim and a struggle ensued. The suspect fired a round into the victim’s leg and the victim pulled a weapon and fired two rounds into the suspect. One round went into the shoulder and the other into the leg. Both men received medical treatment and all wounds are considered non-life threating. Arrests are to follow.

On 10/24/2019 Dothan Police responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of W. Powell Street and Edgewood Drive. Officer quickly determined that the driver was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body and was transported to a local hospital. The victim is currently listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are conducting searches and interviews throughout the area.
Investigators have arrested and charged two suspects in this crime:
- 26-year-old Michael S. Jones, of Broadway Street Ashford, and
- 29 year old Calvin Bivens, of Greentree Street.
Both suspects were charged with Robbery 1st degree and Attempted Murder and are being held on no bond.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Busy 24 Hours for The Dothan Police
On 10/24/2019, The Dothan Police responded to a person shot in the 1200 block of Greenwood. Officers found Bernard Bryant (25) with a fatal gunshot wound to chest. On 10/24/2019, the Dothan Police responded to 600 block of Woodham Road in reference to a person shot. Officers found Rodney Caliste (38) with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Update: Dothan Police are still searching for Elmer Gomez in connection with the stabbing of Pablo Guerrero-Moreno on 10/23/2019 in the 2300 block of Kristie Road.

Dothan Police Investigate Overnight Shooting
On 10/24/2019 Dothan Police responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of W. Powell Street and Edgewood Drive. Dothan Police Investigate Stabbing
On 10/23/2019 Dothan Police responded to an edged weapon assault on Kristie Drive. It was determined that the victim had been stabbed in the upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital and underwent emergency surgery due to his injury. He is currently stable but still listed in critical condition.
The investigation revealed that the all parties involved are acquainted and there was no danger to the community.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Elmer Gomez. Gomez was last seen in the Kristie Road area following the assault.

Man Arrested for Multiple Sex Crimes
On October 18, 2019, the Dothan Police responded to a medical call at Point South Trailer Park. When officers arrived, they were advised by the victim, which was confined to a wheelchair, that she had been sexually assaulted several times over the past year.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators were able to identify the suspect and an arrest was made in the case.
Steven Hallford (51), 386 E. Saunders Road, was charged with 2 counts of Rape 1st and 4 counts of Sodomy 1st, the bond has yet to be determined.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Arrests Made in Commercial Robbery
On October 10, 2019, The Dothan Police responded to a robbery at 1060 W. Main (Shure Value Foods). It was later determined, through investigation, that the robbery occurred with the help of a store employee. Investigators have arrested two people in connection with the robbery.
Anthony Holston (34), of S. Lena Street, is charged with robbery 1st degree and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) and is being held with no bond. Also charged, Candice Richards (34), of Baywood Drive, with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and is being held on a $15,000 bond.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Easy Like Sunday Morning!
This morning, a little after 8:30 a.m. an alert DPD patrolman performed a traffic stop in the 800 block of Chickasaw Street. The driver led officers to a backyard where another person was found sitting in a parked car. Additional officers arrived and conducted an investigation which led to the discovery of an assortment of illegal drugs.
The original driver had a warrant for his arrest and the second subject was found in possession of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Crack-Cocaine, Marijuana packaged for sale, and an assortment of pills. He was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, and Unlawful Possession of four other Controlled Substances.

One Arrested in Haven Drive Shooting
On October 1st, 2019 Dothan Police responded to the 400 block of Haven Dr. in reference to a firearm assault. The victim, 31 year old Michael White, was located and had a minor injury on the left side of his face. White was treated by rescue at the scene.
White stated that he got into an argument with his ex girlfriend, 30 year old Malika Rashan Beacham . White stated that Beacham became violent during the argument and shocked him in the abdomen with a stun gun. White stated that he got into his vehicle and left the scene. He stated that Beacham followed him and when he stopped she exited her vehicle with a .45 caliber pistol and fired two shots at him. One of the bullets grazed Whites face. Beacham then fled the scene, but later turned herself in at the Dothan Police Department.
Beacham was charged with one count of Attempted Assault 1st Degree. She has a $30,000.00 bond.
All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
Arrest Made in Stabbing on S. Lena St.
On October 1st, 2019 Dothan Police responded to a report of an edged weapon assault in the 600 block of S. Lena Street. When officers arrived they located the victim sitting on the porch with a stab wound to his upper chest. Rescue was called to the scene and transported the victim to Southeast Health with non life threatening injuries.
The victim stated that he was stabbed with a knife by his girlfriend, 18 year old Laprincea Elease Bell. Bell was located by police hiding in a bedroom inside of a residence in the 900 block of S. Alice Street a short time later. She was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was admitted to Southeast Health for his injuries and is listed in stable condition. Bell was charged with one count of Domestic Violence 2nd degree and has a $5,000.00 bond.
All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
