On Thursday morning, January 4, 2024, members of the Dothan Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Department, Alabama Law Enforcement Agancy, and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force conducted an operation which resulted in the apprehension of a fugitive wanted for murder in Ohio. Officers apprehended 38-year-old Clarence Abdul Ellis at a residence on Honeysuckle Road in Dothan. Ellis had an outstanding arrest warrant for murder in Columbus, Ohio. He is being held in the Houston County Jail with no bond until he is extradited to Ohio.
Capital Murder Suspect Arrested in Georgia for Warrant in Alabama
On October 28, 2021, Dothan Police Investigators obtained two warrants for the arrest of Ty’Shauwn Markise Bryant related to the murder of Christina Moore that occurred in September 2020. Investigators, with the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Service Gulf Coast Regional Violent Fugitive Task Force, have been following leads on the location of Bryant.
On November 30, 2021, members of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force received information on a location for Bryant in Georgia. Bryant was located in Newnan, GA by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and taken into custody without incident. Bryant will be extradited back to Dothan to face charges of Capital Murder and Shooting into Occupied Residence. When Bryant returns to Alabama, he will be held in the Houston County Jail with no bond.
