Second Suspect Arrested and Additional Suspects Wanted in the Two-State Double Murder

On 7/28/2022, the Dothan Police Department and the Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Department began a joint investigation into a double murder. The investigation led to the discovery of two bodies buried on Long Round Bay Road in Holmes County, Florida. The bodies are believed to be those of Damien Bell and Shauna Terry, who were listed as missing persons from Dothan, Alabama on 7/11/2022.

On 7/28/2022, Sheena Thurman was arrested by the Dothan Police Department and charged with one count of murder. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Dothan Police Department has now charged David Allen Bastian, 37 years old of Port Saint Lucie, Florida with one count of Capital Murder, one count of Kidnapping First Degree, and one count of Abuse of a Corpse.

The Dothan Police Department and the U.S. Marshals are currently attempting to locate Joshua Deavours Parks, 36 years old of Dothan; Devante Laquae Williams, 32 years old of Dothan; and MacAuthur Mike Hawkins, 31 years old of Dothan. Parks, Williams, and Hawkins are wanted for one count of Capital Murder, one count of Kidnapping First Degree, and one count of Abuse of a Corpse.

A reward may be offered for information that leads to the capture of these individuals. Joint Investigation Into a Double Murder

On 7/11/2022 the Dothan Police Department received a report about two missing persons, Shauna Terry, and her boyfriend, Damien Bell. It was reported by family members the two had not been seen or heard from since 7/8/2022. An investigation into their whereabouts was initiated. It was determined the pair left from the motel they were staying at on Montgomery Highway late in the afternoon on 7/8/2022. At the time they left, it appeared they left on their own free will. A “lookout” was issued for the two individuals along with the red SUV they were traveling in. Several days passed with no leads and no new information about their whereabouts.

On 7/28/2022 investigators received information that led authorities to Long Round Bay Road in Bonifay, FL. Sheriff John Tate and the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department were notified of the information and a joint investigation between the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department and the Dothan Police Department began. Information led authorities to believe one or more bodies were buried on the property on Long Round Bay Road. Holmes County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at that location. Cadaver dogs were brought in and indicated to the presence human remains. Excavation began at the location the dogs indicated. The bodies of two individuals were located during the excavation. It is believed the remains may possibly be those of Shauna Terry and Damien Bell, however that cannot be confirmed until forensic testing is completed by Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Dothan Police Department also executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Dutch Street in Dothan, AL and processed this location for evidence related to this incident.

Even though the investigation is in its early stage, it is believed one individual may have been murdered in Dothan, AL and the other individual may have been murdered at the Long Round Bay Road location in Bonifay, FL. Persons of interest have been developed and are currently being sought. Thus far one individual, Sheena Marie Thurman, 35 years old of Bonifay, FL, has been charged with one count of Murder in Dothan, AL and one count of Open Murder in Holmes County, FL.

Update: Four Charged with Capital Murder

Update:

As a result of our community coming forward, we were provided information that gave us leads to work from on this case. With this information, we were able to develop and locate persons of interest. Investigators and Patrol Officers worked into the late-night hours last night locating and collecting surveillance video, conducting numerous interviews, and executing numerous search warrants. As a result of these efforts, four individuals have now been charged with Capital Murder. These individuals have been identified as:

Dialan Zhontavis Beard, 18 years old of Dothan

Rodgrick Jermaine Holmes, 18 years old of Dothan

Davaciera Booth, 18 years old of Panama City, Florida

A 17 year old juvenile of Panama City, Florida

Beard and Holmes are currently in the Houston County Jail with No Bond.

Booth and the 17 year old juvenile have been arrested in Panama City, Florida and are awaiting extradition back to Dothan. Both will have No Bond.

It has been determined the motive in this senseless act was robbery. These individuals conspired together to rob Mr. Johnson of money he was believed to be in possession of and it ultimately cost him his life.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Sheriff Tommy Ford and the Bay County, Florida Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in this investigation.

On July 14, 2022, at approximately 6:30 AM, the Dothan Police Department received a call from a citizen about an individual lying on the side of the roadway at the intersection of Morgan Street and Westmead Street.

Upon arrival, officers determined the black male victim was deceased. It appears multiple shots were fired, and at least one of them struck the victim in the upper torso. The victim has been identified as Gabriel Raynaldo Johnson, 34 years old of Ashford, Alabama.  Johnson’s body has been sent to Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

Gordon Man Charged with Murder

In March 2022, the Dothan Police Department began an investigation into a domestic violence situation in which the female victim reported she had been assaulted by the suspect, Robert Allen Maddox Jr.  At that time, Mr. Maddox was charged with Domestic Violence Strangulation while the investigation into other allegations continued.

It was determined at the time of the assault the victim was pregnant with their child.  During the assault, Mr. Maddox is alleged to have intentionally caused the victim to have a miscarriage.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on June 9, 2022, Robert Allen Maddox Jr., 24 years old of Gordon, AL, was charged with one count of Murder.  His bond was set at $1.5 Million.

Dothan Man Murdered

Early Sunday morning, 5-22-2022, a Dothan man was murdered while outside a downtown café in the 200 block of East Powell Street. The victim has been identified as 21 year-old Jacques Adarius McLeod-Roberts, of Dothan. McLeod-Roberts was outside the business when an unknown person walked up and shot him one time. McLeod-Roberts was pronounced deceased at the scene. No motive and no suspect are known at this time. This incident did not involve the business he was at; it only occurred in front of the business on the sidewalk. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Father Accused of Killing His Daughter Almost a Year Ago

In March 2021, a report was filed with the Dothan Police Department for a missing person, 38-year-old Tomekia Tiffany Williams.  Tomekia was from Jacksonville, FL but was last known to be in Dothan, AL.  All leads were exhausted in the investigation of her disappearance at that time.

On February 9, 2022, skeletal remains were found in in the 2000 block of Johntown Road in Ozark, AL.  Believing those remains could possibly be Tomekia Tiffany Williams, DNA testing was completed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, confirming it was her.

Ozark Police Department spoke to the last person Tomekia was known to be with, her father, Orlando Williams of Dothan.  Information obtained led to investigators from Dothan Police Department joining Ozark Police Department in the joint investigation.  During the investigation, it was learned that after the death of Tomekia, Orlando Williams drove around with Tomekia’s body in his vehicle before dumping her body in the wooded area in Ozark.

As a result of the investigation, the Dothan Police Department charged 64 year old Orlando Williams of Dothan with one count of murder for the death of Tomekia Tiffany Williams.  His bond was set at $1.5 million.  The Ozark Police Department will have additional charges against Orlando Williams.

Friday Night Argument Leads to Murder in Dothan

On February 4, 2022, Dothan Police Officers responded to an address in the 300 block of Rimson Road for an edged weapon assault.  When officers arrived on scene, the victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his chest and shoulder.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Patrol officers responding to information gathered from the scene were able to locate the suspect a short distance from the scene.  Dothan Police Investigators began working the crime scene.  The victim was identified as Frenando Quantrill Jones (41) of Dothan.

According to witnesses, Jones and the suspect, Latrevius Thomas-Jackson, became involved in an argument over Thomas-Jackson’s treatment of a female in Jones’ presence.  The argument turned into a physical altercation where only minor injuries were reported.  Thomas-Jackson then went to the kitchen of the residence, grabbed a large kitchen knife, and returned to continue the altercation with Jones.  During the next physical altercation, Thomas-Jackson used the knife to stab Jones multiple times.  Jones fled the scene after the incident.  Investigators were able to locate the weapon they believe was involved in the incident after statements made by Jones.

Dothan Woman Charged with Murder After Assault on Pregnant Victim

On January 24, 2022, Dothan Police Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 100 block of Shadowlawn Drive in Dothan.  According to witnesses, the victim and the suspect, Iveonna Turner, got into a physical altercation at that address.  During the altercation, Turner struck the victim, who was pregnant, several times in the stomach using her hands and feet during the assault.  After the incident, the victim sought medical treatment for pain in her stomach.

A medical examination confirmed the assault lead to injuries of the fetus that left the fetus unviable and unable to survive.  In the State of Alabama, a fetus, regardless of its viability, is considered a person.  Turner, as a result of the incident, has been charged with murder.

DPD Investigators Charge Suspect in October Murder

On October 9, 2021, Dothan Police Investigators began a murder investigation into the death of Sincere Tyson that occurred on Blissett Drive.  Investigators found that Tyson had suffered from at least one gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.  Investigators have been working tirelessly on this case since the date it occurred.  On December 8, 2021, Investigators finally have enough evidence to announce charges on one individual involved in the crime.

Early in the investigation, Investigators identified the suspect, Solomon Cooper of Climax, GA, as a person of interest in this case.  After many search warrants and subpoenas issued for various items, Investigators found enough evidence that implicates Cooper in the murder.  Warrants were obtained for Cooper’s arrest and he currently incarcerated on unrelated charges in Georgia.  Once those charges are addressed in Georgia, Cooper will be extradited to Dothan to face charges in this case.

Capital Murder Suspect Arrested in Georgia for Warrant in Alabama

On October 28, 2021, Dothan Police Investigators obtained two warrants for the arrest of Ty’Shauwn Markise Bryant related to the murder of Christina Moore that occurred in September 2020.  Investigators, with the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Service Gulf Coast Regional Violent Fugitive Task Force, have been following leads on the location of Bryant.

On November 30, 2021, members of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force received information on a location for Bryant in Georgia.  Bryant was located in Newnan, GA by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and taken into custody without incident.  Bryant will be extradited back to Dothan to face charges of Capital Murder and Shooting into Occupied Residence.  When Bryant returns to Alabama, he will be held in the Houston County Jail with no bond.
